Inflationary Cosmology
A recent paper by O. Philcox (Columbia University, download below) finds that data from the Planck satellite shows no evidence of CMB temperature trispectrum parity violation, therefore constraining some classes of ghost inflation, cosmological collider, and gauge field inflationary models
My advisor, in collaboration with the astrophysics department, has a theoretically well-motivated gauge field inflationary model which has mode function asymmetry and thus leads to parity violation, but was not yet tested against Planck's temperature trispectrum data using O. Philcox's PolyBin code. Now, we are working on testing this gauge model against Planck data via a χ2 statistic in order to determine detection significance.
